Promoting FSS Breeds

Many FSS breeds are able to enter AKC companion and some performance events excluding Conformation of course, so are FSS breed clubs and owners taking advantage of the opportunity to enter these events?

Are FSS breed owners actively walking around the other rings and educating other breeders as well as the general public that might be in attendance about their respective breeds?

Hopefully we can exchange ideas regarding the best way to take advantage of these events to promote our breeds.

The first weekend the Laekenois could compete we have 2 dogs earn an RN and 1 earn a CD.

Last I checked so far we have had 1 Laekenois earn a CD, CDX, RN and RA. Another earn a RN and RA.

Their is another who has 2 JWW legs and 1 Agility Standard leg and an other that has a single JWW leg.

That's Fantastic Cindy !
I competed with my Podengos (smalls) this past weekend and picked up a RN on my younger male and 2 legs on my Multi-CH after just 6 weeks of training.
Thank goodness for the rally classes, those signs can be quite confusing if you haven't learned them all.
I have been asked to do breed education booth this spring and I wonder if others are doing education booths at AKC events around the country for their breeds?

We (ABLA) are trying to set up a large show and educational event for all the FSS breeds with the Wine Country Circuit but it isn't until 9/09. At the moment I'm working on insurance issues and will be contacting all the various clubs once we have the full blessing of the host shows, we already have been given the green light from Mari-Beth at the AKC.

I've got a friend named Lori Dixon who has a Podengos in CA perhaps you have run into her. Don't think she is showing hers but I could be wrong.

Just heard that one of our club members got an RE on her boy over the weekend.

BTW I started getting the AKC Awards issue again so if clubs would like I can check it for dogs in their breeds getting titles and email them.
